“I have met some of the best, most interesting people who I now consider good friends at CrossFit Morgantown.”
2 years! I joined on 7/26/21 along with my husband Tyler.
Truthfully, because Tyler wanted to join, and I was just tagging along. I wasn’t a huge fan of showing up to a group CrossFit class, especially when I didn’t know anyone there. I also thought CrossFit and the type of people who did CrossFit might be a little “too extreme” for me.
We moved to Morgantown in August 2017 for work/school and had not been successful in those first 2 years with our effort or consistency with our home workouts. We were also trying to figure out how to make local friends that had similar interests as we did.
The people! I have met some of the best, most interesting people who I now consider good friends at CrossFit Morgantown.
I also enjoy the variety of workouts with all the scaling options that CrossFit Morgantown provides to meet you where you are at with your fitness on any given day. The feeling of accomplishment you get when you finish a workout when at the beginning…or middle…or end…felt like it was impossible. Just showing up and doing tough workouts where you know the people around you won’t let you give up on yourself and quit really pushes you to succeed and keeps you wanting to come back.
I can really get into any activity that includes being outdoors, but I specifically love to hike and go on backpacking trips, kayak/paddleboard, and snowboard. I also really enjoy a good puzzle.
I don’t think there is one specific person, but I would say some of the most inspirational people I have met and look up to are people who don’t make excuses for why things are going wrong, but instead use those challenges to grow, build, and come out on the other side even better than they were before.
Improved fitness makes me a better person overall. It gives me more energy, patience, and drive that I can then use in other aspects of my life.
How to remodel a bathroom…it’s been more like learning over 5-months, but who’s really counting?
