“CFM can meet you wherever your fitness is now and deliver you to wherever you envision your journey going.”
How long have you been a member at Community Fitness of Morgantown?
7 years – CFM Anniversary August 6, 2013
Why did you join?
I joined because I wanted to incorporate weights into my fitness and get a variety of workouts because running was all I was doing for fitness, and I was doing less of that.
What do you love most about Community Fitness of Morgantown? / What keeps you coming back each month?
There are so many great people creating a CFM Community that Jeff, Sarah, the coaches, and the members have fostered; it is tremendous.
I love/hate the “warm-up” because it is in depth and for many people in the world it could be their workout (on some days it feels like that to me (haha)). We usually stretch a bit in the warm-up too, which is as close as I want to get to yoga, even though I could benefit.
What keeps me coming back is Jeff Giosi. Well, is it him or his programming, or both? He’s infectious! Wait…not proper these days…you know what I mean. But…his programming is tremendous. Constantly varied from day to day and week to week but with a definite plan for member progression. You can come workout 5 or 6 days each week and the movements from day to day complement each other and do not lend themselves to over-training as long as you don’t let your ego get the better of you.

What is your current occupation? And/or what are some hobbies, clubs, groups, or activities you participate in?
I am retired from being a GM in the Restaurant Industry. My wife, Toni, and I are both from Morgantown and we like to get the h*ll out, …um…travel. If possible, we travel with our son and daughter (Freddie and Bryanna) and extended family members. Toni and I like light hiking, long walks, Disney World, and Charleston, South Carolina. We will travel for Food and Wine. I’ve run a dozen marathons and am trying to get back to running more as well as CFM.
Who inspires you?
I take my inspiration from those around me, so many to choose from. My wife’s desire for fitness is inspiring. She’s a hard self driver, doing 5 days per week for a full hour.
How has improved fitness impacted your life?
Improved fitness has made me feel better, relieves stress, and made helping my children move in and out of college dorms and apartments much easier, even if not more enjoyable
What’s one thing – either fitness related or not – you learned in the last month?
In the last month, I have not been able to get into the gym and I really miss it. It’s a balance in my life that I do not want to be without.
What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try out CFM?
To those I love, I say, try CFM if you do not have other fitness in your life that drives you and you enjoy, or you wish to inject variety into your fitness routine. CFM can meet you wherever your fitness is now and deliver you to wherever you envision your journey going.
