We believe, together, we can make change.
2020 Community Service Initiatives
Using fitness as a catalyst to support our community and help others recognize their full potential through… friendship, love, and loyalty. At CFM, we facilitate one community service project with our members each and every month. Here’s what we have coming up in 2020.
Warm Hands, Warm Heart Community Outerwear Drive
Jan 20 – Feb 1, 2020
Please donate new or gently worn children’s and adults’ winter hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, boots, and coats. We are working in partnership with Christian Help. Donations will be distributed throughout Monongalia and Preston counties.
2020 Special Olympics WV Polar Plunge
February 22, 2020 at 1 p.m. (Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the costume contest will begin at 12:15 p.m.)
Crab Shack at Cheat Lake
This is where the very first Polar Plunge for Special Olympics WV took place, and 15 years later it remains a great and must-do event for many. Participants will plunge into Cheat Lake, which always provide some frigid water for plungers to enjoy. This Polar Plunge is noted for the incredibly creative costumes that many participants wear to compete in the entertaining costume contest before taking the plunge. So get a friend or two and join us for the plunge and the great party that follows at the Crab Shack where we share our plunge stories and enjoy food and drinks.
CrossFit Morgantown will have a plunge team and Sarah Giosi will be serving as the emcee for the event. To register, visit here.
