I love that I can bring my daughter guilt free. Seeing how accepting everyone is of her, and watching so many people love her, means more to me than they will ever know.”

1.    How long have you been a member at CFM?
I have been a member for nearly 9 months now.

2.    Why did you join?
I joined because of my mom and my daughter. I was going to a different gym at the time and was struggling to stay motivated and feel comfortable bringing my daughter to the gym. My mom kept telling me how much I would enjoy it, so I started coming every Friday for her. Once my punch-card expired, I signed up monthly for unlimited visits!

3.    What do you love most about CFM? What keeps you coming back each month?
I love that I can bring my daughter guilt free. She had just started crawling when I started attending CFM and was immediately welcomed by everyone. At every other gym it felt like a burden to bring her, but I was so set on not changing my lifestyle. I wanted to find a balance and CFM finally let me do that. Now, she gives high fives after every workout, loves free-hanging from the rig, and it has done wonders for her social skills. Seeing how accepting everyone is of her, and watching so many people love her, means more to me than they will ever know.

4.    What is your current occupation? What are some hobbies, clubs, groups, or activities you participate in?
Currently, I work from home as a digital marketer for Zera House, a small nonprofit that provides a safe home and assists in holistic and spiritual recovery to survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation. I also love being outside, off-roading in my Jeep, and spending time with my family.

5.    Who inspires you?
So many people inspire me, but my family inspires me the most. My mom comes into the gym with me nearly every day, and seeing her dedication to functional fitness inspires me to keep doing hard things. My daughter inspires me to be strong, to show her that being a woman doesn’t mean you can’t be strong and have a little (or a lot) of muscle. Lastly, my husband inspires me to dream big and never give up. He sees no limit in what a person can do and pursues everything he does like it is the last time he will do it.

6.    How has improved fitness impacted your life? Please provide an example of a result outside of the gym.
Improving my fitness has allowed me to do things with my daughter I used to find difficult. – Hiking with her in a carrier used to be a struggle for me and now, even with her at a heavier weight, it seems easier.

7.    What’s one thing- either fitness related or not- you learned in the last month?
Before CFM, I had very little social circle outside of my family. Being a young stay-at-home mom doesn’t give you a whole lot of opportunities to make friends and speak with other adults. It seems like my toddlers gibberish has become a second language to me. I found myself struggling to connect with people my age and other moms because I am usually much younger than they are. Postpartum is hard enough, and feeling so lonely made it harder. CFM has given me a feeling of community outside of just being a mom, and many friends and people that I never would have met otherwise.

8.    What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try out CFM?
You can’t put a price on the benefits CFM offers. Realistically, you could go to any other gym and get just as fit, but I have been to 7+ gyms and never have I felt so welcomed and encouraged. Every day I leave feeling encouraged or motivated in a new way, even when I think I didn’t “perform” up to the standard I wanted.
