“I can say from experience that once you actually commit and get that first class under your belt you will fall in love with CFM and regret not joining it sooner.”
1. How long have you been a member at CFM?
– Just a little over three months.

2. Why did you join?
– I was in kind of a rut with my fitness routine, the same basic movements for years. I eventually stumbled onto CrossFit which seemed like just the challenge I needed to jumpstart my motivation to workout consistently and also enjoy it. Finally talked myself into contacting CFM to give it a shot and it has turned out to be the best decision ever.

3. What do you love most about CFM? / What keeps you coming back each month?
– Since day one, walking into a completely new environment, the people at CFM being so welcoming and friendly is why I came back. Since then, it has been exciting to come back each week and be surrounded by people you can talk and laugh with who are also going to support and push you through whatever workout your doing that day.

4. What is your current occupation? And/or what are some hobbies, clubs, groups, or activities you participate in?
– I am a full time EMT in Preston County. Outside of work I’ am also a volunteer firefighter in Kingwood. I’m a pretty big sports guy whether its going to games, or actually getting out and playing some like softball and golfing once the weather breaks.

5. Who inspires you?
– Being in a public service role whether it be as my paid job or as a volunteer, I get a lot of inspiration from the community I serve. It drives me to be the best version of myself physically and mentally each day so that I can provide the best service I can to my community when its needed.

6. How has improved fitness impacted your life? Please provide an example of a result outside of the gym.
– Improved fitness has helped me in terms of my job. I tend to get into a lot of strenuous situations and being in better physical shape has helped me get through these situations without becoming completely exhausted.

7. What’s one thing – either fitness-related or not – you learned in the last month?
– Still being very new to CrossFit, there really hasn’t been a week go by that I don’t learn something new in the gym. If I had to pick one though, I would say learning how and actually pulling off a handstand push up recently. That was pretty exciting

8. What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try out CFM?
– I would say don’t hesitate. You’ll always be able to find a reason as to why it’s not a good time or you’re afraid of trying something new. I can say from experience that once you actually commit and get that first class under your belt you will fall in love with CFM and regret not joining it sooner.
